On August 17, the Optimist Club of Lynchburg held its annual Research Recognition Program, sponsored by MontVue Capital, during which the two Central Virginia Governor's School students were recognized for their outstanding ability to convey their Research curriculum project summaries in the form a visual presentation board.
On June 15, the Optimist Club of Lynchburg held its annual Essay Contest Recognition Program, sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors, during which the two winners of the contest (in partnership with HumanKind) were recognized for their stellar entries entitled "Why I Love My Family". The contest winners represented Sheffield Elementary School and Temperance Elementary School.
On May 18, the Optimist Club of Lynchburg held its annual Theatre Arts Recognition Program, during which five local high school students were recognized for their dedication to performance and/or production in theatre arts, based upon nominations submitted by their teachers/administrators and peers.
During the program, held at Phase 2, each honoree received an award certificate, a commemorative Optimist Club medallion with pocket-sized Optimist Creed, a gift certificate to Givens Books, and a random drawing among prizes...
